ESPN.com’s “Quiniela”

I’ve mentioned the quiniela soccer betting ticket many times on this blog. I was a little surprised, however, to see that espn.com’s soccer page has innagurated a weekly column dedicated to Spanish men’s favorite Saturday morning ritual. I can’t imagine that the number of espn.com Soccernet readers exceeds the hundreds here in Spain — it’s an American publication, written in English, and it focueses on England’s Premier League. Considering the incredibly low cost of these bets, I think I’ll dedicate one of my habitual four quiniela columns a week to Eduardo Álvarez’s picks, and see if this expert can net me any cash.  The most I’ve ever gotten correct is 12 of 15 matches correctly (a 20 euro prize that week), so I’m anxious to see if I can find any practical success as surely one of the only readers of this column who is able to apply the advice.
