“Eso Es Así”

A low-budget short in which a  comedy pair impersonate typical pijos sevillanos (snooty Sevillians) is the latest internet phenomenon in Andalucía. Yes, 1.5 million views does appearantly constitute a phenomenon in Andalucía. Esmeralda’s aunt, a Spanish- as-a-second-language teacher, says she puts this video on for some of her students, but I can’t imagine they understand much of anything through the local cultural references, thick, rapid Sevilla accent, and several instances of almost unintelligable andaluz slang. It’s difficult for northern Spaniards to understand “Eso Es Así” (“That’s The Way It Is”), let alone a recent immigrant to this country. Enjoy it if you can understand it.
